How does Love Gathered work?

You start a project, choose a design style, and invite the people who love your honoree — either by sharing one link with everyone, or inviting people individually. Each person writes a memory, adds photos, and can even record a voice or video message. Once everyone's in, we design the book, you review and approve it, and it ships straight to your door.

How much does a book cost?

The Keepsake Edition starts at $99, and the Premium Layflat starts at $169. Both include 48 pages. Additional pages cost $4 per 2 pages for Keepsake or $6 per 4 pages for Premium Layflat. Shipping and any additional-page costs are calculated when you approve your finished book. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout.

How long does the whole process take?

That's mostly up to you and how quickly your contributors respond — you can optionally set a deadline to help keep people on track. Once you send the project in, design review typically takes 24–48 hours. After you approve the finished book, it goes to print and ships from there.

How long will my book take to arrive?

Every Love Gathered book is custom-made, so your order goes through both a design/production process and professional printing before it ships. Your estimated delivery date will depend on your book edition, final page count, shipping destination, and shipping method. We'll provide an estimated delivery window before your order is finalized, and you'll receive tracking information once your book ships.

Do I need an account to start a book?

Yes. Organizers create a free account when they start a book, so you can come back any time to check progress, send reminders, and approve the finished design. The people you invite never need one.

Do the people I invite need to create an account?

No. Anyone you invite can contribute using just the link you send them — no sign-up, no password, nothing to remember.

How do I invite people?

Once you've started your book, you can invite people directly from your dashboard. Copy your book's share link and send it by text, email, or group chat, or invite people individually by entering their names and email addresses. Individual invitations include personalized links and automatic reminders, making it easy to keep everyone on track.

What if someone doesn’t use email?

No problem! If someone doesn’t use email or isn’t comfortable submitting their own memory online, you can contribute on their behalf. Simply choose “Add my own memory” from your dashboard, select “On behalf of someone else,” and share their memory, photos, or recording for them.

What if some contributors are running late?

If you set a deadline, we automatically send reminders to anyone who hasn't submitted yet — no need to follow up yourself. If you don't set one, you're always in control of when the project moves forward.

Can I see the book before it's printed?

Yes. Nothing goes to print without your final approval. If something's not quite right, you can send it back with a note describing what to fix — at no extra charge — before approving.

What if I have more content than my edition includes?

Both editions include 48 pages. If your book runs longer, we'll show you the exact extra-page cost clearly before you approve — nothing is ever billed as a surprise. Each edition also has a maximum length (98 pages for the Premium Layflat). If a Premium book would go past it, we'll offer to move it to the Keepsake Edition and refund the price difference, or you can trim it.

What if my book has fewer than 48 pages?

The price stays the same. It covers designing, assembling and printing your finished book, not a charge per page, so we can't refund or credit pages you don't use.

Why do extra pages cost more?

Each Love Gathered edition is printed through a professional book printer, and the way pages are added depends on the printing format you choose.

Keepsake Edition: Additional pages are added in 2-page increments, so you can add 2, 4, 6, 8 pages, and so on.

Premium Layflat Edition: This format is printed in 4-page increments. Because of the way the book is constructed and bound, pages must be added in groups of four rather than individually or in groups of two.

The additional-page pricing covers the extra printing and production costs from the printer. We’ve structured it this way so you only pay for the additional pages actually added to your book, while keeping the pricing simple and transparent.

Why can the Premium Layflat Edition only have 98 pages, while the Keepsake Edition can have up to 600?

Our Premium Layflat Edition uses a special binding technique that allows photographs to flow beautifully across two pages without disappearing into a traditional book gutter.

Unlike traditional bookbinding, layflat books are constructed using folded sheets joined together to create seamless spreads. This layered construction produces substantial, luxurious pages, but also makes the book thicker and heavier as more pages are added.

To maintain the quality, durability, and seamless layflat experience, our Premium Layflat Edition is limited to 98 pages.

If you’re gathering a larger collection of memories, our Keepsake Edition accommodates up to 600 pages, making it a wonderful option for books with more stories, photographs, and contributions.

What kind of photo works best for a two-page spread?

For the most beautiful results, we recommend a high-resolution, landscape-oriented photograph with plenty of detail.

Our Premium Layflat books measure 8.5 × 11 inches per page, creating a stunning 17 × 11-inch two-page spread.

For excellent print quality, we recommend photographs around 5,100 × 3,300 pixels (300 DPI at full size). Photos around 3,400 × 2,200 pixels (200 DPI) may also work well, depending on the image.

For the best results, upload the original, full-resolution photograph rather than a screenshot or compressed image. Photos with important faces or text directly in the center may not be ideal because that’s where the book folds.

Don’t worry if you’re unsure! Our designer will review your photograph and determine whether it’s suitable for a two-page spread.

Can contributors add voice or video messages?

Yes. Anyone can record or upload a voice message or a short video, and we turn it into a scannable code printed right on the page — so opening the book means hearing and seeing the people who made it, too. Recordings are converted so they play on any phone, and anyone who has the book can play a recording and save a copy.

What occasions is this good for?

We launched with milestone birthdays and weddings, plus a flexible option for anything else — anniversaries, retirements, or any occasion that calls for a gift made from the people who love someone.

What if I want to change the style after I've already started?

Until you send your book in for design review, you can change the style for free, even after contributions are coming in. Once your book has been designed and is ready for your approval, switching to a different style is a $5 Style Switch, because your finished book is redesigned in the new style.

How is the book printed?

Every book is printed on high-quality, professional-grade paper and binding, and ships directly to your door — no separate pickup or handling required.
